What You’ll Get
Welcome to CMTI’s EKG Technician Program, an 8-week program designed to provide the knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue entry-level opportunities in cardiac and patient care. The program combines online coursework, instructor support, and interactive clinical training while preparing students for national certification.
EKG Technician Training
Develop foundational knowledge of cardiac anatomy, EKG equipment, lead placement, rhythm recognition, patient preparation, and proper EKG procedures.
Interactive Virtual Learning
Interactive coursework and Virtual Interactive Clinical Training help students apply what they learn through realistic EKG scenarios and skill simulations. Mississippi students enrolled on or after October 5, 2026 are also required to complete an in-person clinical/hands-on training component in Gulfport, Mississippi.
Practical Skills Training
Learn proper electrode placement, patient preparation, EKG procedures, infection control, equipment use, and the fundamentals of recognizing cardiac rhythms.
Certification Preparation
CMTI prepares students to sit for the Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification exam offered by American Allied Health (AAH).
Career Opportunities
EKG Technicians may work in hospitals, physician offices, clinics, diagnostic facilities, and other healthcare settings. Training and certification can help prepare you to pursue entry-level opportunities in the field.

EKG Technician
Course Requirements
- The Coastal Medical Training EKG Technician Course costs only $599.00, or 8 weekly payments of just $75.00
- (Payment plans available through Coastal Medical Training Institute or flexible options with Affirm, AfterPay, Klarna, or PayPal Pay Later)
- Eight (8) week online course
- Weekly Zoom meetings available with a Certified Expert Instructor
- Students have access to Certified Expert Instructors throughout the course for guidance and support.
- NHA Online Training Modules and Practice Tests included
- Students must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to enroll
- All students must provide a valid government-issued photo ID
- Must provide a High School Diploma, GED, or official High School Transcripts
- Reliable internet access and a web browser or smartphone
- Includes: CET Study Guide and AAH Practice Exams (exam fee not included)
- The AAH exam fee is $105.00 (not included)
🔴 Mississippi Students – Clinical Requirement
Mississippi students enrolling on or after October 5, 2026, are required to complete an in-person clinical/hands-on training component as part of this program. This training will occur in Gulfport, MS. An additional clinical/lab fee of $49.00 applies.
If you’re currently working on your GED, you may begin coursework while completing it.
