Admission Requirements
- Coastal Medical Training EKG Technician Course is only $599.00. (Payment Plans Available) through CMTI or use AfterPay, Klarna or PayPal Pay Later.
- Eight (8) weeks of online course instruction with a Certified Instructor of EKG. The clinical training is done through cutting-edge "online approved virtual interactive clinicals" with SIMTICS Virtual Clinicals.
- The exam cost is $105 ( not included) Get Prepared to take the CET exam With American Allied Health .
- Live clinical in Gulfport MS once a month ( Not Mandatory)
- Students must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to take the course.
- All students must provide a valid picture ID to take the course.
- High School Diploma or GED.

A Day in the life:
A day in the life of an EKG technician is both challenging and rewarding, revolving around the crucial task of conducting electrocardiograms to monitor and assess the cardiac health of patients. Their day typically begins with a review of the patient schedule and preparation of the EKG equipment, ensuring that all machines are calibrated and ready for the day’s appointments.
Once the setup is complete, the EKG technician starts seeing patients. They greet each patient warmly, explaining the procedure to alleviate any anxieties and ensure the patient is comfortable. The technician carefully places the electrodes on the patient’s chest, arms, and legs, positioning them accurately to capture the best possible cardiac readings.
Throughout the day, the technician performs multiple EKGs, each requiring meticulous attention to detail. They must be adept at identifying any artifacts in the EKG tracings that could indicate improper lead placement or patient movement. After each test, they ensure the data is correctly recorded and securely stored in the patient’s electronic medical record.
In between tests, EKG technicians often interact with physicians, providing them with EKG results for analysis and further medical decision-making. They may also attend to urgent testing requests for patients experiencing symptoms like chest pain or palpitations, where their skills contribute directly to critical care.
At the end of the day, the technician reviews all completed tests to ensure no discrepancies in the records. They clean and maintain the equipment, preparing for the next day. Throughout their shift, EKG technicians play a pivotal role in patient care, combining technical skill with compassionate patient interaction.
